What Are the Features and Benefits of the DreamStation 2?

The DreamStation 2 Auto CPAP, a clinically-proven integrated sleep solution, features advanced comfort features designed to enhance your ease of use. Whether you’re shopping for your first CPAP machine or have been diagnosed with sleep apnea for a while and simply want a new CPAP set-up, the DreamStation 2 is, well, a dream.

Here’s a look at what you can expect with the all-new DreamStation 2 Auto CPAP:

DreamStation 2 Key Features

  • 29% Smaller Than the Original DreamStation
  • Integrated Humidifier Reduces Bulk and Enhances Comfort
  • New Ramp Plus Function Lets You Ease Into Pressure Settings
  • Get Daily Sleep Data Feedback and Improve Compliance With Tech Features
  • Intuitive Color Touchscreen Makes Menu Navigation A Breeze
  • Unique Bonus Features Boost Efficiency

29% Smaller Than the Original DreamStation

Twenty-nine percent smaller than the original DreamStation and 16% lighter than other options on the market, the DreamStation 2 won’t clutter your nightstand or weigh down your luggage—even with the bonus of a built-in humidifier. Additionally, the DreamStation 2 uses the smallest diameter tubing (12mm micro-flexible heated tubing), further eliminating excess bulk. The small size of the DreamStation 2 Auto CPAP makes it ideal for use at home or on the go.

Integrated Humidifier Reduces Bulk and Enhances Comfort

The original DreamStation is built without a humidifier, but the DreamStation 2 includes an integrated humidifier with five heat settings so you can enjoy the comforts of moistened pressurized air without adding bulk to your bedside table or suitcase. Humidified air helps prevent dry mouth and nasal soreness, and having the option to add humidification without adding bulk is very appealing for many. The humidifier has a 325ml capacity and uses distilled water.

New Ramp Plus Function Lets You Ease Into Pressure Settings

Those new to CPAP can struggle to adapt to prescribed pressure settings, but the new Ramp Plus feature is designed to ease you into your sleep therapy at a lower, more comfortable pressure setting while you drift to sleep. After 30 minutes, the DreamStation 2 will make automatic adjustments to meet your pressure needs. (Ramp Plus time can be used in 15, 30, or 45-minute increments.) If an apneic event is detected, the machine automatically makes the proper adjustments.

Get Daily Sleep Data Feedback and Improve Compliance With Tech Features

Use your new DreamStation 2 Auto CPAP as soon as you receive it, thanks to its out-of-the-box, no-touch setup. Or, if preferred, you can make personalized adjustments using the Care Orchestrator.

With the Care Orchestrator function, you can receive actionable patient insight that helps anticipate and resolve any concerns you have surrounding your sleep therapy. Remote data collection features track your performance each night and communicate that sleep data to your healthcare provider for monitoring.

You can take charge of your sleep therapy by using the incorporated DreamMapper app with improved Bluetooth connectivity, too, which lets you view your sleep data and set sleep therapy goals. According to one study performed by Philips Respironics, patients struggling with their sleep therapy who used the DreamMapper app—which can also help you keep track of your mask fit and overall therapy hours—experienced a whopping 283% higher compliance rate.

Intuitive Color Touchscreen Makes Menu Navigation A Breeze

One of the most popular features of the DreamStation 2 is its intuitive color touchscreen that lets you easily navigate the menu and modify your sleep therapy settings. You can easily read your settings and make quick adjustments with a quick swipe of your finger, even if it’s two o’clock in the morning. The color touchscreen gives you full access to the sleep menu which allows you to easily adjust humidification levels, heated tube temperatures, and Ramp Plus settings.

Unique Bonus Features Boost Efficiency

The hidden cord routing, which contributes to a clutter-free nightstand, and sleek one-button design are additional benefits of the DreamStation 2 that contribute to its modernism and efficiency.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve previously used the DreamStation and want to upgrade your set-up, the DreamStation 2 Auto CPAP offers a variety of upgrades and benefits that will enhance your sleep therapy journey. Those newly diagnosed with sleep apnea or those who have not yet used any Philips Respironics CPAP equipment can comfortably adjust to the DreamStation 2 while enjoying its bounty of user-focused features.
