Using Your New Machine for the First Time

When your machine arrives , there's no need to set the machine to your prescribed pressure or insert the filter, as this was all done before we mailed it to you. Out of the box, your machine is ready to start therapy once you connect the machine to the short eight-inch hose, Qtube, long four-foot hose, HME device, and finally your mask.

  • Insert tube adapter into the machine's tubing outlet.
  • Attach one end of the short CPAP tube (eight-inch) to the other end (the round side) of the tube adapter.
  • Connect the other end of the short tube to one side of the Qtube.
  • Connect the other side of the Qtube to the long CPAP tube (four-foot).
  • Attach the long CPAP tube to the HME device.
  • Connect the other end of the HME device to your mask.
  • Ensure all connections are secure to prevent any air leaks.
  • Attach the power adapter cord to the machine and a power source to turn it on.
  • Your machine will now be ready to begin therapy.

FAA/TSA Compliance

  • This machine meets FAA and TSA requirements for use on commercial aircraft.
  • Your machine can be packed into your luggage or carried on board, however, we suggest carrying your machine with you to prevent damage during transport.
  • CPAP machines are classified as necessary medical devices, which are exempt from counting against you as a carry-on item while on domestic flights.
  • If you intend to use your device while flying, we suggest contacting the airline a few days prior to your flight.

Mask Compatibility

The Z2 Auto will work with any mask, except the specific masks designed for the AirMini. However, the Waterless Humidification System will not work with masks that use short tubes, such as the AirFit P10 or N30.

Supplemental Oxygen Notice

The Z2 is not designed for use with supplemental oxygen. Do not attempt to use supplemental oxygen with the Z2 machine as this can cause injury, damage, or loss.

Maintenance

Machine Part Replacement Schedule

  • Tubing: Every 3 Months of Use
  • Qtube Muffler Foam: Every Month of Use
  • HME Filter: Every Week of Use
  • Disposable Machine Filter: Every 4 Weeks of Use

Disassembling Your Machine

Gently separate the machine from the tube adaptor, short tube, Qtube muffler, long tube, HME device, and your mask.

Daily Cleaning

  1. Disassemble machine from tubing.
  2. Wash the CPAP Tubing in warm water using mild soap.
  3. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Allow parts to air dry away from direct sunlight.
  5. Make sure tubing has fully dried before reassembling.

Q-Lite Muffler Notice

The Q-lite muffler does not require you to replace any of its individual parts. The foam inside the Q-lite has been tested and should not have any significant bacteria growth after 30 days of consecutive use. The use of a water-based humidifier may affect this. Examine the Q-lite for cracks or breaks in the plastic and replace as necessary.

Cleaning Notes

  • Replace the disposable air filter regularly, it is not washable.
  • Wipe down machine with a damp cloth or wipe as needed.
  • Refer to the mask user guide for specific mask cleaning.
  • Examine each part of your machine to ensure it is in good condition with no breaks or cracks.
