A healthy person should have blood oxygen levels close to 100%. Normal readings are typically around 95% or higher. If your blood oxygen levels dip down close to 90%, that's considered to be too low. How to Clean the Pulse Oximeter Wipe the device with a soft cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Be careful not to pour or spay and liquids onto the pulse oximeter. Do not allow any liquid to enter any openings on the device. How to Care for the Pulse Oximeter Replace batteries in a timely manner when the battery indicator lights up.
