WARNINGS
- Keep the oximeter away from young children.
- Small items such as the battery door, batteries, and lanyard are choking hazards.
How to Get Started
- Remove the battery cover, and insert the included AAA batteries into the pulse oximeter.
- Open the padded finger insert, and slide your finger into the device.
- Check the readout on the top of the oximeter to see your current pulse rate and your blood oxygen levels.
Fingernail polish or acrylic nails obstruct the light transmission and may result in inaccurate readings.
What's a Normal Pulse Oximeter Reading?
A healthy person should have blood oxygen levels close to 100%. Normal readings are typically around 95% or higher. If your blood oxygen levels dip down close to 90%, that's considered to be too low.
How to Clean the Pulse Oximeter
- Wipe the device with a soft cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Be careful not to pour or spay and liquids onto the pulse oximeter. Do not allow any liquid to enter any openings on the device.
How to Care for the Pulse Oximeter
- Replace batteries in a timely manner when the battery indicator lights up.
- Clean the surface of the oximeter before each use.
The Pulse Oximeter requires no routine calibration or maintenance other than replacing the batteries when the battery indicator lights up.
