The Zopec Explore Oxygen Universal CPAP Battery has a capacity of 576 Wh of battery life and will run the average CPAP machine without humidification for 48 to 64 hours. Unlike other batteries, it can also provide a full night of therapy even with a heated hose and humidification. Whether you’re looking for the ultimate CPAP backup battery for at-home use or a robust option for camping or RV travel, the Zopec Explore Oxygen is the battery for you.

Don’t Compromise on Humidification: Large Capacity to Handle Any CPAP Machine With Humidification

With a staggering 576 Wh capacity, the Zopec Explore Oxygen Battery can run a full-sized CPAP machine for up to 64 hours without humidification. If humidification is on your must-have list, you can run a heated tube with humidification at a high-pressure setting for at least 8 to 12 hours, which is longer than other batteries can claim.

Versatile and Robust Power Supply for Home & Travel

The Zopec Explore Oxygen Battery does more than power your CPAP. With dual 110V AC outlets and rapid-charge USB ports, it keeps your essential devices running during outages or outdoor adventures. From smartphones to small appliances, stay powered wherever life takes you.

Platinum-Rated Backup Battery Supports Heated Tubes and Humidifiers

This 7.5 lb CPAP battery is an excellent choice for a full-time battery backup or emergency power solution while you’re at home. Thanks to its UPS Platinum Rating and auto-switching capability, it will automatically take over when the power goes out, even when running a humidifier and heated tubing! To use as a backup battery, simply plug your machine into the battery, then plug the battery into a standard AC wall outlet; the Explore Oxygen will continue your therapy in a power outage, allowing you to continue snoozing in peace. It’s also constructed with super-reliable Panasonic Lithium-Ion cells, which are the same high-quality batteries found in Tesla battery packs.

Digital Readout, Fast Car Charger, and Fast Wall Charger for Ultimate Convenience

The Zopec Explore Oxygen Battery features a digital readout to easily see how much battery life you have remaining before needing to recharge. To make recharging quicker and less of a hassle, your purchase also includes a Fast Wall Charger and a Fast Car Charger for making the most of your downtime. That said, the Explore Oxygen Battery needs up to 12 hours for a full charge, so be sure to plan accordingly when the battery is starting to run down.

Increase Runtimes With Unlimited Battery Linking

All Zopec Explore batteries feature the ability to be linked in a series to expand battery life. Whether you have a second Explore Oxygen battery or a smaller, different model of an Explore battery, you can link any two or more in a series with the included charging cable for longer runtimes.

Not FAA Approved for Air Travel

This battery is intended for use as an Uninterruptible Power Supply, backup battery, or travel companion on road trips or camping. Its 576 Wh capacity exceeds the maximum 160 Wh capacity approved by the FAA, so it is not safe for air travel. It is perfectly safe for camping and road trips, however, and works great at home as a dedicated backup battery.

Tips

More

Machine Compatibility

This battery features a wall outlet-style input, meaning it is compatible with almost every sleep therapy device, including CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP machines.

Charging Your CPAP Battery

This battery can be used as a portable power source when traveling with your CPAP machine. To do this, you will need to charge the battery ahead of time.

  • Before first use, please charge battery to 100%.
  • Plug the wall charger to the wall outlet.
  • Connect the wall charger to the battery through the round recharge port located on the back of the battery.

Using Your Battery As a Backup Power Source

If you are expecting a power outage while you are using your CPAP machine, a backup battery can prevent you from having to cut your CPAP therapy short. This battery can be used as a backup power supply that immediately takes over powering your machine the moment your home loses electricity, so you don't have to wake up.

  1. Plug your CPAP battery into the wall charger as if you are about to charge it.
  2. Plug your CPAP machine into the outlet located on the front of the batter.
  3. Turn your battery on.
  4. Your battery will begin charging while also powering your device.

Determining Your Battery Run Time

While most battery manufacturers offer an estimate for their battery run time, it's best to test how long your new battery lasts with your specific CPAP machine and pressure settings.

  • Remove your mask.
  • Put a paper towel or sock inside the mask end of your CPAP hose.
  • Imitate breathing by turning the machine on and letting a little air through the CPAP hose.
  • Allow the machine to run throughout the day.
  • Measure the amount of battery used and divide that by the number of hours it ran.

Extending the Life of Your CPAP Battery

  • Extend battery power by turning off humidifier and heated tubing.
  • Using a humidifier reduces battery run time by 50 - 60%.
  • Using a humidifier and heated tubing reduces battery run time by 70-80%.
  • BiPAP machines require about 20% more power than CPAP.
  • Travel machines use less power than a standard machine and are ideal for frequent travelers or power outages.
  • If battery life is limited and you will not have access to power for several days, talk to your doctor about temporarily limiting CPAP usage to 4-6 hours per night.

FAA/TSA Information

At 576 Wh, the Zopec Explore Oxygen exceeds FAA/TSA guidelines for air travel. If you need a battery that you can bring on the plane, you'll need one with a capacity of 160 Wh or less. Below are the guidelines for flying with your CPAP battery. Keep in mind that each airlines has the ability to create additional rules, so it's best to double-check with your specific airline before your flight.

  • CPAP batteries are not permitted in checked luggage and must be stored in your carry-on bag
  • All battery terminals should be covered to prevent a short circuit.
  • Passengers are allowed to carry an unlimited number of mid-capacity (up to 100 Wh) lithium-ion batteries for personal use.
  • Passengers are also allowed to carry up to 2 high capacity (101-160 Wh) lithium-ion batteries for personal use.

Storage & Safety

More

Storing Your CPAP Battery

  • Fully charge battery to 100% before storing.
  • Fully recharge every 3-6 months of storage.
  • Choose a cool, dry, well-ventilated location.
  • Keep out of direct sunlight.

  • Keep away from flammable or explosive materials.
  • Do not let the battery remain dead for any extended period of time, as this can reduce maximum battery life.

Safety Tips

  • Keep out of reach from children.
  • Avoid dropping the battery.
  • Keep away from water or moisture.
  • Use manufacturer-approved battery chargers to avoid short circuit.
  • Do not disassemble.
  • Do not attempt to repair.
  • Charge battery on a hard, non-flammable surface.
  • Do not use outside the operating temperature range specified in the product manual, which is usually between 32 - 115°F.
  • Do not charge if the charging cord or battery has obvious damage or if the battery appears to be bulging.
  • Do not leave unattended for long periods of time while charging.
  • Avoid coming in contact with any electrolyte leakage.

Disposing of Your CPAP Battery

  • Lithium-ion batteries should not be discarded with typical household trash.
  • Contact your local waste department for more information.

FAQs

More

Can the Zopec Explore batteries be used as an automatic backup during a power outage?

Yes, all Zopec Explore batteries feature AutoSwitch technology, which allows them to function as an automatic backup power source. When plugged into a wall outlet, they will keep your CPAP machine running during a power outage by seamlessly switching to battery power without any interruption to your therapy.

Are the Zopec Explore batteries FAA approved for air travel?

The Zopec Explore Mini (97 Wh), Explore 4000 (120 Wh), and Explore 5500/5700 (160 Wh) models are FAA approved for air travel and can be carried in your carry-on luggage. However, the Explore 8000 (288 Wh) and Explore Oxygen (576 Wh) both exceed the FAA's maximum capacity limit of 160 Wh and cannot be taken on an airplane.

Is the Zopec Explore battery series compatible with all CPAP machines?

Yes, with the exception of the Zopec Explore Mini, Zopec Explore batteries are designed to be compatible with all CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV machines. They feature universal AC outlets and USB ports, making them versatile for powering various devices. They also use a pure sine wave power signal, making them safe to use even with older PAP devices.

How should I store and maintain a Zopec Explore battery for occasional use, such as camping?

For occasional use, like camping, it's best to fully charge the Zopec Explore battery every six months while not in use to prevent the battery from degrading over time. Store in a cool, dry area. Since Explore series batteries act as uninterruptible power supplies, it is also a good idea to connect your machine to the battery and plug the battery into your usual AC wall outlet. This way, the battery will always be charged when you need it AND it will automatically take over in the event of a power outage without interruptions to your therapy.
