AirMini Resources

Using Your New AirMini AutoSet for the First Time

  • Connect the AirMini tubing and HumidX/HumidX Plus to your compatible AirMini mask. Attach the mask connector on the other end of the tube to your machine.
  • Connect the power supply cord to your AirMini and plug it into a power source. The machine will power on automatically.

  • Neurostimulators
  • Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) Shunts

Choosing the Correct Cushion Size

The F30 complete mask set is available in two cushion sizes, small and medium. Most men are encouraged to go with the standard-sized medium cushion. FAQs

More

What masks can be used with the AirMini?

The AirMini is specifically designed to work only with a handful of ResMed CPAP Masks:

The AirMini can also be made universally compatible with any CPAP mask using the Zephair Tube Adapter and any unheated CPAP tubing with standard 22mm connections. This includes ResMed SlimLine Tubing.

Using the Zephair adapter means your AirMini will no longer work with HumidX Waterless Humidification, but you can still use Breas Blue Foam HMEs or Transcend AirMist HMEs with standard CPAP hoses.

Can the AirMini be used with heated humidification?

No, the AirMini does not integrate with standard heated humidifiers. It uses the waterless HumidX humidification system that recycles expelled moisture to enhance air humidity. HumidX is only available for the AirFit P10, AirFit N20, AirFit N30, and AirFit F20 for AirMini masks.

How loud is the AirMini?

The AirMini runs at about 30 decibels, which is about the same sound level as a whispered conversation. For comparison, full-sized CPAPs tend to run around 26-28 decibels. Due to their compact size, travel CPAP machines often have less sound-dampening material, so while their decibel ratings on paper are similar, travel machines will typically sound louder than their full-sized counterparts.

Does the AirMini automatically adjust air pressure?

The AirMini can be used in CPAP mode with fixed pressure, or in AutoSet mode where it adjusts air flow breath-by-breath based on your needs. The AutoSet for Her mode is specifically calibrated for female users.

How do you fit the ResMed F30 AirFit?

You can use our sizing guide to help you find your best mask fit right from the comforts of home. If you still have questions about your mask fit, give us a call at 1-800-356-5221 or contact your doctor for additional fitting instructions.

How quiet is the F30 full face mask?

This mask is quite quiet at just 25 decibels. Its volume is quieter than a whisper. The QuietAir quick-release elbow disperses air over a wider area than other elbows, reducing overall noise output and creating fewer sleep disturbances for you and your partner.

What are some popular accessories for the AirFit F30?

We carry a variety of products for the AirFit F30 that are designed to keep your equipment clean, reduce skin irritation, and improve your comfort. Try the Anti-Leak Strap to keep mask leaks away. You can also view and purchase replacement parts for your F30 in the "Replacement Parts" tab.

When should I replace my AirFit F30 Cushion?

You should replace the cushion of your AirFit F30 CPAP mask every three months on average. You may need to replace it sooner if it shows signs of wear, begins to lose its seal, or begins to irritate your face. Here are some signs to look for :

  1. Cracks, tears, or other blemishes in the cushion that will affect the seal quality.
  2. Cushion stiffness. If the cushion is harder and less comfortable, it may be a good idea to replace it.
  3. Loss of pressure. If your mask suddenly begins to leak more no matter how much you tighten your headgear or readjust the way your mask is seated on your face, it can be a sign that it’s time to replace your cushion.
  4. Facial irritation. Most commonly, this is a sign that your mask needs to be cleaned, but if you haven’t kept up with your cleaning routine, it may be better to start fresh with a new cushion.

Are there any accessories that make the F30 Cushion more comfortable?

There are not many comfort accessories for the AirFit F30, but the PadACheek Anti-Leak Strap can help if you’re experiencing issues with a leaky seal no matter how you adjust your mask.

Typically, mask liners can help to make your CPAP mask and therapy more comfortable by reducing leaks and providing a barrier between your skin and the silicone of the mask. Due to the unique hybrid design of the F30, however, mask liners don’t work as well as they would with a traditional full face mask that covers the nose completely.

Can the AirMini be used full time as a home machine?

Yes, the AirMini can work as your primary CPAP machine, but it's best suited for specific situations.

The AirMini might be perfect for you if:

  • You travel frequently and would truly benefit from its portable design
  • You're comfortable with background noise or already use a white noise machine
  • You don't rely heavily on humidification (the HumidX option works in a pinch, but it's not the same as a full water chamber)
  • You're comfortable using a smartphone app to adjust settings (though you can still start and stop therapy directly on the device)
  • You don't need easy access to detailed sleep data or compliance reports (the AirMini app only offers simplified data, doesn't support SD cards, and getting compliance reports requires coordination with a healthcare provider who can access the AirView portal)

Many of our customers love the AirMini as a secondary or backup machine, giving them freedom to travel while maintaining their therapy. For full-time use, these considerations become more important for your day-to-day comfort and experience.

Is there a monthly fee or payment required to use the AirMini companion app?

The AirMini app is available for AirMini owners completely free of charge, with no monthly subscription fees. You'll simply need to create a free account and register your machine's serial number, then connect to the app via Bluetooth.

How can I track therapy data with the AirMini?

ResMed's AirMini companion app keeps track of nightly therapy data. You can see a simplified view of data from previous nights directly on your smartphone, which can be helpful for understanding how your therapy is going on a nightly basis.

If you're interested in more detailed therapy data, you'll need to coordinate with your healthcare provider to sync your AirMini's data with ResMed's AirView service. Currently, the AirView service is only available to licensed healthcare professionals.

AirView is currently the only way to generate compliance reports with the AirMini, as these detailed reports cannot be viewed in the AirMini app, and the machine does not support an internal SD card.

Can I reduce the noise of the AirMini?

If the noise of the machine itself is disturbing your sleep, you may find success with the AirMini Bed Mount System. The Bed Mount System allows you to mount the AirMini at a lower level, such as on the side of your bed or nightstand. In doing so, you're limiting your direct exposure to the AirMini's sound levels and allowing your mattress to absorb some of the noise instead.

If you find that the disruptive noise is coming from your tubing rather than the machine itself, ensure that all of your connections are tight and air is not escaping. If you're using HumidX Waterless Humidification, ensure it is seated properly.

If you sleep with a higher CPAP pressure (15+ cmH2O), switching to a quieter mask may help reduce noise levels. Check out our compatibility tab for more information about using the AirMini with other CPAP masks.
