Customer Highlights
REALLY COMFORTABLE!—5 Stars: “Similar to my positive experience with the cushions that fit this mask, I really am enjoying the fit and feel of the F20 on my head. I love the design allowing me to not have something in/over my eyes as well as freeing up my forehead space. The straps/fitment does not move around throughout the night either.” Verified Purchase 08/11/2023
The AirFit F20 has a lot to offer, especially if you have struggled to find a full face mask that fits just right. It is offered in a wide range of sizing options for both headgear and cushions. This mask is easy to use and very comfortable. It features ResMed’s innovative InfinitySeal technology, which ensures a secure mask seal and prevents mask leaks, even at high pressure settings. Let’s take a closer look at the AirFit F20 design: The AirFit F20 features a traditional-style mask that fits over the nose. This mask style will naturally be bulkier than newer under-the-nose designs, like the AirFit F30. However, this over-the-nose design serves an important purpose– it is easier to fit a range of face shapes and less likely to leak at higher pressure settings. It’s common to hear people complain about pressure points caused by over-the-nose CPAP masks. These spots are especially common across the bridge of the nose. To resolve this issue, the AirFit F20 included additional soft padding across the top of the mask cushion. The AirFit F20 is best known for having a universal design that fits almost every face shape and size. ResMed states that 97% of people who tried the AirFit F20 found it fit perfectly. To guarantee a perfect fit, the F20 includes adjustable headgear made of flexible plastic that fits the contours of your head, plus an adaptable cushion that fits any nose shape. ResMed included its patented InfinitySeal technology into the AirFit F20 mask cushion. This design relies on something called infinity loops, which help the cushion conform to your face. The InfinitySeal stabilizes the F20 cushion so it doesn’t move or leak air, even at high pressure settings. This makes it possible to get comfortable without pushing your CPAP mask out of place. Even if you do experience leakage with the AirFit F20, the Anti-Leak Strap from Pad-a-Cheek can help reign things in. Like most traditional masks, this one includes a standard hose connection located at the front of the mask frame. This type of design can restrict movement, but the AirFit F20 addresses this issue. ResMed included a full swivel hose connection, allowing more freedom of movement. The quick-release elbow swivels 360° and moves up and down. Obviously, masks with top-of-the-head hose connections–such as the DreamWear Full Face CPAP Mask–may be better for very active sleepers who toss and turn all night long. But if you’re looking for something that lets you make adjustments in bed before getting comfortable, the AirFit F20 works great! This mask features flexible cloth headgear that moves with you so that it doesn’t move even when you turn over at night. Despite being flexible, customers state that the material is well-made and won’t fall apart after a few months of wear and tear. The AirFit F20 headgear holds the mask in place, anchoring to the frame with four easy-to-adjust velcro straps. The F20’s low-profile headgear puts less pressure on the nose and cheeks. The design also eliminates the need for bulky forehead straps that put pressure across the head. To improve comfort, ResMed padded the face-side of the headgear with a soft-touch material that reduces pressure points and makes it possible to sleep on your side without having the mask cut into your cheek. Each AirFit mask is designed with ResMed’s QuietAir Vent Technology, which reduces the noise your mask produces when you exhale. The noise volume for each mask differs based on the model, but the AirFit F20 produces just 21 decibels of sound, making it whisper quiet. QuietAir Vents are placed across the surface of the elbow. These multi-directional ports release air across a wider surface area, ultimately muffling any sound. The AirFit F20 connects to your CPAP hose with an easy-to-use Quick-Release Elbow, perfect for late-night bathroom trips or grabbing a midnight snack. The Quick-Release feature makes it possible to detach your mask from your hose with just one hand, even in the dark. Compared to top-of-the-head masks, like the AirFit F30i, the F20’s placement is great for people with dexterity issues who can’t reach above the head to detach the elbow. One of the best features of the AirFit F20 is the self-guiding magnetic clasps, which snap in and out of place with just a flick of the wrist. Customers love this feature because it lets them take the mask off and put it back on again without having to undo any velcro adjustments. This is definitely handy for bathroom trips! Be aware that magnets are unsafe for people with medical implants (including pacemakers). If you have an implant, talk to your doctor about the safety of using a magnetic CPAP mask. The AirFit F20 mask includes a silicone cushion. However, if you have sensitive skin, you can exchange it for the memory foam cushion that comes with the AirTouch F20. The headgear and mask frame are identical between both masks, making the parts interchangeable. If you have sensitive skin, or are looking for CPAP masks that work with beards, the AirTouch F20 may be an even better option! According to the manufacturer, the entire AirFit F20 mask cushion should be wiped down after each use. The rest of the mask must be cleaned weekly with mild soap and warm water. The F20 mask features six pieces: Cleaning your mask may take a little bit more time compared to simpler designs, such as the AirFit F30, but our customers don’t seem to mind washing a couple of additional pieces if they’re getting great sleep because of it. Like any other CPAP mask, the AirFit F20 includes replacement parts that must be changed on schedule– including the headgear and mask cushion. The AirFit F20 is offered in a variety of sizing options, including an AirFit F20 For Her option. You can also make adjustments to the headgear’s velcro straps for a personalized fit. F20 headgear is available in small, standard, and large. The mask cushion is offered in small, medium, and large. You can find the right cushion size for your face shape by using the ResMed F20 sizing guide. The AirFit F20 may be a little pricy for some people, but the cost seems to be on par with similar mask styles. Cheaper options do exist, but it is hard to find a mask that offers as many features for a lower cost. We think it is worth the price, especially if you want to sleep on your side or have struggled to find a full face mask that doesn’t leak! The F30 cushion is made of silicone, but it can be interchanged with the memory foam cushion of the AirTouch F20. The AirFit F20 headgear frame is made of flexible plastic with soft padding that cradles the face and head. It is secured with soft nylon head straps, which feature adjustable velcro. To clean your CPAP mask, disassemble the entire mask– short tube, elbow, headgear frame, head straps, mask frame, and cushion. Wash with mild soap and warm water. You can also use 2:3 diluted cleaning vinegar to kill germs. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry before using again. The AirFit F20 is not suggested for stomach sleepers. However, the flexible short tube and full swivel elbow make this a good CPAP mask for side-sleeping because it reduces tugging on your CPAP hose. Your order will include the ResMed AirFit F20 owner’s manual, adjustable headgear with magnetic clips in size Standard, a soft silicone cushion in your choice of size, a plastic mask frame with fabric-lined arms, and a quick-release elbow. The AirFit F20 maximizes comfort and function with its strong InfinitySeal, compact design, and adjustable headgear.
