Our Ratings for the DreamWisp Nasal CPAP Mask

Ease of Use - 8

Following in the tradition of the DreamWear's minimalist design, the DreamWisp has minimal parts and is easy to put on and take off. It's essentially the same design, except for the cushion. For this reason, we scored it the same as the DreamWear.

Other Mask Ease of Use Scores
DreamWear Nasal 8
ResMed AirFit N30i 8

Ease of Maintenance - 6

This mask uses the same hollow frame as the DreamWear Nasal, and for this reason, we give it a 6. The issue is the hollow frame must be completely submerged in water to be cleaned. While the hollow frame design is among the most innovative and popular masks on the market today, it does bring with it additional challenges when it comes to cleaning and maintenance.

Other Mask Ease of Maintenance Scores
DreamWear Nasal 6
ResMed AirFit N30i 7

Quiet Operation - 8

The DreamWisp Nasal CPAP Mask is one of the quietest CPAP masks on the market today, checking in at 26.1 dBA, which is considered whisper-quiet. Other masks in the same category we looked at have performed equally well.

Other Mask Quiet Operation Scores
DreamWear Nasal 8
ResMed AirFit N30i 8

Active Sleeper Friendly - 10

The DreamWisp is really unique, in that it has a traditional cushion design that covers the nose, but it's anchored into place really well to help safeguard against leaks. It also has a 360-degree swivel and a top-of-the-head hose connection, allowing you to move freely, while still getting the full benefit from the therapy.

Other Mask Active Sleeper Scores
DreamWear Nasal 10
ResMed AirFit N30i 10

Field of Vision Obstruction - 9

It gets a slightly lower score than the others because it uses an over-the-nose cushion while the DreamWear and the N30i use a cushion that supplies air to the base of the nostrils. Your command of vision with the DreamWisp will be almost as good though, as the over-the-nose cushion is designed to be low profile.

Other Mask Field of Vision Obstruction Scores
DreamWear Nasal 10
ResMed AirFit N30i 10

Cushion Comfort - 10

If there's one area where the DreamWisp has an advantage over the other masks, it's in the area of cushion comfort. While the designs of the N30i and DreamWear Nasal can have issues with leaks from time to time, the DreamWisp is designed to create the best seal of the group, and it delivers in this area.

Other Mask Cushion Comfort Scores
DreamWear Nasal 8
ResMed AirFit N30i 8

Headgear Comfort - 10

The headgear for all three masks is very soft and pliable and is designed to feel comfortable in almost any setting.

Other Mask Headgear Comfort Scores
DreamWear Nasal 10
ResMed AirFit N30i 10

Cost - 8

The DreamWisp retails for around $109, so you'll pay a little more for the mask than something like the SwiftFX. Even though it's a little more expensive, it's about what you'd pay for the retail price of both the DreamWear and N30i. You truly do get what you pay for when it comes to quality, so that's something to keep in mind when considering other masks.

Other Mask Cost Scores
DreamWear Nasal 8
ResMed AirFit N30i 8

Uniqueness - 10

The DreamWisp combines the best features of two popular Respironics masks (DreamWear and Wisp) and puts it together into one package. There's currently no other mask out there like the DreamWisp, and it's one of the reasons the mask is so popular.

Other Mask Uniqueness Scores
DreamWear Nasal 10
ResMed AirFit N30i 10

Sizing Variety - 9

The DreamWisp Fit Pack comes with small, medium, and large cushions. Available separately are petite and extra large sizes, so you have additional options if the standard sizes don't fit.

Other Machine Sizing Variety Scores
DreamWear Nasal 9
ResMed N30i 9

TOTAL SCORE: 89 / 100 or 89%

Conclusion

The DreamWisp Nasal Mask takes a different approach to the concept of low-profile nasal cushions, creating a mask that may seal better than the DreamWear Nasal— and it actually scored better than the DreamWear Nasal!

It's also priced competitively with the other nasal masks in the same style and category, and well worth the extra money. Overall, it's a very solid option if you're looking for a true nasal mask with a quality seal.
