The Bongo Rx device consists of soft, silicone nasal pillows that are inserted into the nostrils. Each nasal pillow contains a one-way valve that open when you breathe in and close when you breathe out.

Inhale

When you breathe in, the valve in the Bongo Rx opens up. This allows air to flow freely through your nasal passages and into your airway, so you get the oxygen your body needs.

Exhale

When you exhale, the EPAP valve closes, causing some of the air from your lungs to build up. This creates something called a positive pressure, which presses against the walls of your nasal passages, throat, and airway.

Open Your Airway

The positive pressure that is created during exhalation prevents airway blockages by acting as a brace against the soft tissues that line your nose, throat, and airway. Ultimately, this process keeps the airway open, so you experience fewer apnea episodes and less snoring.

EPAP therapy isn't right for everyone. To qualify for EPAP therapy with the Bongo Rx, you must:

• Have mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea
• Have an AHI score between 5-30
• Qualify for low-moderate pressure CPAP therapy
• Be able to breathe only through the nose
• Sleep with your mouth closed or use a chinstrap

You should not use the Bongo Rx if you...

• Breathe through your mouth
• Have severe sleep apnea
• Require high pressure CPAP therapy
• Experience regular sinus or upper respiratory infections
• Experience chronic sinus congestion
• Have a deviated septum or other nasal blockage
• Have a severe respiratory condition
• Have severe heart disease
• Experience chronic low blood pressure

Product Sizing: How to Find Your Bongo Rx Size

Finding Your Bongo Rx Cushion Size

When you first receive your Bongo Rx Starter Kit, it's best to try all four cushion sizes to be sure you've found the one for you. If you experience air leaks, rubbing, or discomfort, this may mean you need to change your cushion size.

1. Start with size small.
2. Gently insert the nasal cushions into your nostrils until the sealing beads are just inside your nose.
3. If the device will not stay in place or you are experiencing leaks, try the next size up.
4. Repeat this process until you find the size that feels secure but not too tight.
5. Test your cushion seal by covering both valves with your thumbs
6. With valves covered, close your mouth and breathe out through your nose.
7. You should not detect any air leaks escaping around the nasal cushions.
8. If you experience any leaks, try the next cushion size.
9. Once you find your cushion size you will purchase the Bongo Rx Annual Pack (listed in the buy box) in your chosen cushion size.

Daily Cleaning

1. Separate EPAP device from the headgear
2. Gently wash EPAP device in warm water with mild soap
3. Rinse thoroughly
4. Shake out excess water that has collected inside the inserts
5. Allow to air dry away from direct sunlight or excess heat
6. Check that all vents are unobstructed
7. Make sure device is fully dried before using again

Weekly Cleaning

1. Separate EPAP device from headgear
2. Gently wash cushions and headgear with mild soap and warm water
3. Rinse thoroughly
4. Shake cushions to remove excess water that may collect while cleaning
5. All to air dry fully away from direct sunlight or excess heat
6. Make sure headgear and cushions are fully dry before using again
