Finding a comfortable sleeping position is hard for many people, especially if you use a CPAP machine. Few people know this struggle better than those who sleep on their stomachs. This problem is complicated by the shape and size of most CPAP masks, which are traditionally too bulky to wear while lying on your belly.

That said, CPAP therapy and stomach sleeping can coexist! The key is simply finding the right mask. If you want the best CPAP mask for stomach sleepers, you need to look for something with a compact design, a strong seal, and a hose attachment that won’t get in your way.

While it’s usually a little easier to wear a nasal CPAP mask if you’re sleeping on your belly, there are also options for people who breathe through their mouth, require high-air-pressure CPAP therapy, or have skin sensitivities that limit the types of masks they can use.

So, whether you’ve just begun your search or haven’t had any luck finding the right mask, we’re here to help by listing some of our favorite types of CPAP masks for stomach sleepers with all sorts of preferences. Plus, we’ll include our CPAP mask buying guide, which covers everything you need to know when selecting your own mask.

AWESOME MASK!— 5 Stars: “I have used a P10 mask for almost 5 years. I would get frustrated with the hose being in front of me, and I had to move it. Additionally, when sleeping on my side, the hose would fall off my shoulder bothering my sleep. I decided to try this P30i to see if it would make a difference. I just love it!! I sleep so much better, plus it is quieter. I had worried about the side panels being an issue, but I barely even knew they were there. It is also so easy to put on. I could kick myself for not getting one of these sooner..”

ResMed AirFit P30i Nasal Pillow Mask Details

The ResMed P30i Nasal Pillow Mask is perfect for active stomach sleepers who breathe through their nose. This mask gives you the freedom to sleep how and where you want! The top-of-the-head hose connection lets you move around as you settle into a comfortable sleeping position. Meanwhile, four out of five owners have ranked the secure seal as ‘excellent’ thanks to the dual-wall nasal pillows and unique nasal cradle design.

Why We Chose This Mask

  • Top-of-the-Head Hose Connection: The top-of-the-head hose connection takes the traditionally bulky CPAP hose connection point and moves it to the top of your head, giving you so much more flexibility when moving around in bed or sleeping on your side or belly.
  • Hollow Headgear Frame: The hollow frame turns your CPAP headgear into a CPAP hose, reducing the need for bulky tubing that puts pressure on your face.
  • Accordion-Style Frame: Unlike the DreamWear series, the AirFit P30i features a highly flexible, soft silicone, accordion-style frame that conforms to your head shape and moves with your head.
  • Nasal Cradle Design: The P30i nasal pillow mask is supported by an under-the-nose nasal cradle. The unique curved design lets you rest your face against a pillow without causing the nasal pillows to slip out of your nostrils.
  • 360° Elbow Swivel: The 360° elbow swivel is placed at the top of the head and allows you to move as much as you want in bed without getting tangled up in tubing and hoses. It’s worth noting that some reviewers have stated that the AirFit 30i swivels may be slightly more stiff than the DreamWear line.
  • QuietAir Vent Technology: AirFit masks are designed to vent air as quietly as possible. At just 21 decibels of sound, the P30i is one of the quietest masks on the market.
  • Dual-Wall Nasal Pillows: The dual-wall nasal pillow design is popular for a reason! It allows for a better, more flexible fit that helps to create a strong seal.
  • Soft Fabric-Wrapped Headgear: This mask features soft cloth pads designed to provide added comfort and padding to the lower frame of the AirFit P30i. They are made of a soft, breathable material and provide a bit of padding between the mask frame and your face, reducing the risk of skin irritation or pressure marks.
  • Clip-In-and-Out Elbow: The AirFit P30i mask is very similar to the DreamWear nasal pillow CPAP mask. However, one standout feature is the elbow design, which features a clip-in-and-out design that is easier to use than DreamWear’s “press-in” design.
  • Low Profile Headgear: Some CPAP masks require a lot of headgear support, but not the AirFit P30i! This mask offers a low-profile design that doesn’t require multiple face straps or forehead support. This minimizes your mask’s contact with your skin, ultimately reducing your risk for CPAP skin irritation and leaving your field of view completely open.
  • Interchangeable Frame: The AirFit P30i’s frame and headgear are designed to be interchangeable with the AirFit N30i’s nasal cradle for added versatility.

This Mask Is Ideal For

  • Low to Moderate Pressure Settings: Nasal pillow masks produce a direct stream of air straight into the nostrils. This sensation may be uncomfortable when used with high pressure settings.
  • New to CPAP: As a nasal pillow mask, the AirFit P30i is often recommended to people who are new to CPAP due to its minimalist design, strong seal, and comfortable fit.
  • Bedtime Activities: Seals at the base of your nostrils and routes air around the face to keep a wide open sightline. It’s perfect for anyone who wears glasses, likes to read, or watches T.V. before bed.
  • Nose Breathing: Nasal pillow masks are designed for people who breathe primarily through their nose.
  • Facial Hair: This mask is known for maintaining its strong seal, thanks to the dual-wall nasal pillow design that inserts directly into the nose. It is a great option for people with facial hair who may struggle to get a good seal while wearing other CPAP mask styles.
  • People With Claustrophobia: Experts often suggest starting with a nasal pillow mask because they are much less likely to cause CPAP-related claustrophobia.
  • Active Sleepers: Thanks to the top-of-the-head hose connection, 360-degree swivel, and minimal facial touch points, this mask is perfect for people who toss and turn at night!
  • Side and Stomach Sleepers: This mask is perfect for those who sleep on their stomach or side, thanks to its nasal cradle design and top-of-the-head hose connection.

GAME CHANGER!— 5 Stars: “This is a game changer. I’ve been using the full face mask for over a year, and it’s been nothing but irritating for me. So the AirFit N30i mask is a lifesaver. It fits very well, and I can sleep in any position without worrying about any leaks, irritating my mouth, or causing severe dry mouth like the full face does. So yes I would definitely recommend this particular nasal mask.”

ResMed AirFit N30i Nasal Mask Details

The ResMed AirFit N30i is a nasal mask that is designed to provide a comfortable and hassle-free experience for stomach sleepers, allowing for more restful sleep with your CPAP machine. Unlike traditional nasal CPAP masks, this mask features a unique curved cradle cushion that sits under the nose, which pushes air directly into your nasal passages. The minimalist design limits pressure points, making you less likely to wake up with red marks on your face.

Why We Chose This Mask

  • Top-of-the-Head Hose Connection: The hose connection is located on top of the head. This design means you don’t have to deal with bulky CPAP hoses on or near your face, allowing you to comfortably lay on your stomach without having a CPAP hose press into you.
  • 360° Elbow Swivel: The AirFit N30i headgear features a quick-release clip, allowing users to easily take off or put on the mask, even with dexterity issues.
  • Hollow Headgear Frame: The N30i frame is hollow and made of lightweight and flexible material, which enhances comfort and minimizes pressure points or marks on the face.
  • Accordion-Style Frame: The N30i features a flexible, soft silicone frame with an accordion-style design. This frame design is more likely to fit the contours of your head, even when you move around in bed.
  • Nasal Cradle Design: The nasal seal is protected by a sleek under-the-nose nasal cradle, which curves along the contours of your nose and allows you to move around without knocking your CPAP mask off your face.
  • QuietAir Vent Technology: The AirFit N30i releases air at just 24 decibels, making it one of the quietest traditional nasal CPAP masks available today.
  • Clip-In-and-Out Elbow: The quick-release clip-in elbow enables easy connection and disconnection from the CPAP tubing.
  • Low Profile Design: While traditional nasal CPAP masks usually feature a forehead support bar, the AirFit N30i offers a unique design that minimizes facial touch points, reducing the risks for skin irritation along the nasal bridge and leaving your field of vision clear.
  • Soft Fabric-Wrapped Headgear: This mask features soft cloth pads designed to provide added comfort and padding to the lower frame of the AirFit N30i nasal mask. They are made of a soft, breathable material and provide a bit of padding between the mask frame and your face, reducing the risk of skin irritation or pressure marks.
  • Interchangeable Frame: This mask features headgear that can also be used interchangeably with the AirFit P30i.

This Mask Is Ideal For

  • Low to Moderate Pressure Settings: Due to its unique design, this nasal CPAP mask is not recommended for high pressure settings. This mask is better suited for low to moderate pressure levels.
  • Bedtime Activities: The mask features a lightweight and minimalistic frame that does not require forehead support. This allows for a clear line of sight, which makes it easier for users to read, watch TV, or wear glasses.
  • Nose Breathing: Nasal CPAP masks are designed for people who breathe primarily through their nose.
  • Facial Hair: The AirFit N30i can be worn even with thick facial hair due to its unique nasal cradle design and under-the-nose seal.
  • People With Claustrophobia: Due to its unique nasal cradle design that minimizes pressure points, this mask is perfect for people who experience CPAP-related claustrophobia because they do not cover as much of the face.
  • Active Sleepers: The top-of-the-head connection with a full swivel makes this mask a great option for people who toss and turn at night.
  • Side and Stomach Sleepers: This mask is highly suggested for people who want to sleep on their side or belly.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!— 5 Stars: “I have used CPAP Therapy for 7 years and have tried numerous masks and cushions. Highly recommended as it really worked for me.”

ResMed AirFit F30i Full Face Mask Details

The ResMed AirFit F30i CPAP mask provides comfortable and effective therapy for individuals with sleep apnea who breathe through their mouth. This mask offers a unique shell and hollow frame, with a top-of-the-head connection that allows you to sleep on your side or stomach without the mask pressing into your face. And unlike traditional full face masks, this one features a low-profile design, which reduces pressure points and leaves your face free from bulky straps and hoses.

Why We Chose This Mask

  • Top-of-the-Head Hose Connection: One of the key features of the AirFit F30i is its top-of-the-head connection, which reduces CPAP mask bulk and makes it less likely for you to become tangled in your CPAP hose.
  • 360° Elbow Swivel: With the AirFit F30i, your CPAP hose connects to the top of the mask frame, via an elbow-shaped tube, which spins 360°. This 360° elbow swivel gives you the freedom to move as much as you want without accidentally pulling off your mask.
  • Shallow Side Profile: When wearing the F30i, you can lay your face against your pillow without disturbing the mask’s positioning. This mask features a unique shell that covers the entire mouth, but unlike traditional full face masks, it seals just under the nose instead of covering it. This allows the mask to provide airflow to your mouth and nose without extending past the contours of your face.
  • Hollow Headgear Frame: Like other AirFit 30i masks, this mask includes a hollow frame, allowing air to flow into the mask without needing bulky CPAP tubing.
  • Accordion-Style Frame: The F30i is built with a flexible accordion-style frame made of silicone and is soft to the touch. Compared to the DreamWear Full Face Mask, this design ensures that the frame moves with you and allows for a better fit.
  • QuietAir Vent Technology: This mask offers ResMed’s QuietAir technology, producing only 25 decibels of sound at the mask’s excess air vent.
  • Clip-In-and-Out Elbow: The AirFit F30i mask has a quick-release clip-in-and-out elbow that makes it easy to disconnect from the tubing, providing convenience for bathroom breaks or other interruptions during the night.
  • Low Profile Design: Full face masks are usually secured with forehead straps, which hold the nasal bridge of the mask in place. The AirFit F30i, however, does not require this feature. This design helps to minimize the pressure along the upper cheeks and bridge of the nose.
  • Magnetic Clips: Instead of traditional hook and loop fasteners or clips, the AirFit F30i mask uses self-guiding magnetic clips to secure your headgear to your mask, making this mask much easier to put on and take off.
  • Adjustable Velcro Straps: Compared to the P30i and N30i, it’s easier to get a good fit when wearing the F30i because it features an adjustable velcro strap on either side of the chin.

This Mask Is Ideal For

  • Low to High Pressure Settings: Like most full face CPAP masks, the AirFit F30i can be used with a range of pressure settings, including high pressures.
  • Bedtime Activities: Unlike a traditional full face mask, the F30i design eliminates the need for a traditional forehead support or bulky cushion, providing a clear field of vision and allowing the user to wear glasses or watch TV comfortably.
  • Nose and Mouth Breathing: Full face CPAP masks , like this one, are the top choice for people who need to breathe through their mouth and nose.
  • People With Claustrophobia: Due to its unique, under-the-nose design and low-profile headgear, this mask is perfect for people who need a full face mask but struggle with feeling claustrophobic.
  • Active Sleepers: The mask is designed with a top-of-the-head connection and a 360° elbow swivel that allows active sleepers to move and shift positions without feeling restricted.
  • Side and Stomach Sleepers: The AirFit F30i is an excellent mask for belly sleepers and side sleepers alike.

Fisher & Paykel Evora Full Face Mask

Pros

  • Pacemaker Safe
  • No Airflow Near the Ears
  • Compact Mask and Hose Won’t Press Into Your Face
  • Highly Adjustable Headgear
  • Maintains Strong Seal Even When Moving

Cons

  • Hose Connection Is Located In Front of the Face
  • More Pressure Points Than a Nasal CPAP Mask
  • Harder to Put On and Take Off Due to No Magnetic Clips
  • Original Hose Connection Does Not Swivel
  • Slightly More Difficult to Disassemble/Reassemble

VERY GOOD!— 5 Stars: “This mask is decent for people with nickel/magnetic clasp allergies. The headgear is one of the best that I have used. It is soft, the Velcro fasteners don’t stick out and scratch my face. The straps don’t get in my eyes like other headgear. The only thing that I don’t like much is the attachment air tube because it is always in the down position and does not swivel. However, this can be an advantage in that the mask is less likely to move around while you are sleeping once you get used to its presence. The face cushion firmly attaches to the mask base, which is also a real plus as my previous mask cushions would often pop off and disconnect from the base while I was sleeping, causing me to wake up. You have to make sure that the plastic hooks “click” into place before going to sleep for peace of mind, I definitely like that. If you are looking for a quick release from the mask, you won’t get it with this mask, but I prefer a secure fit so that the mask is less likely to wake me up during the night. All in all, this is a very good face mask overall!

Fisher & Paykel Evora Full Face Mask Details

The F&P Evora Full Face Mask is the definition of a modern CPAP mask! It offers all the perks of a full face mask but with a low profile design, super strong seal, and unique under-the-nose cushion. Unlike other masks on this list, the Evora does not have a top-of-the-head hose connection. However, it offers a unique downward-facing hose connection design that allows you to still sleep on your stomach.

Why We Chose This Mask

  • Compact Hose Connection: The Evora Full Face Mask has a unique hose connection, which is located closer to the chin and points downward rather than outward. This compact hose connection makes sleeping with your face against your pillow so much easier.
  • Shallow Side Profile: This mask was designed to be as compact as possible, and it shows! The design features a very shallow side profile, which means you can sleep on your stomach without having your mask pressed into your face.
  • Floating Seal: The Evora likely has one of the strongest seals on this list, thanks to its unique Dynamic Support Technology, which seals just under the nostrils.
  • Stability Wings: The second aspect of F&P’s Dynamic Support Technology is the mask’s hard plastic stability wings. This part of the mask sits between the shell and the CPAP hose and is designed to keep your seal in place, no matter how much you move.
  • Highly Adjustable Straps: We love this mask because it’s easy to get a perfect fit! This mask features three sets of velcro straps– on top of the head, under the cheeks, and right above the jawline.
  • Quiet Vent Exhaust Holes: This mask is slightly louder than other masks on this list, but that doesn’t mean it’s loud. It features uniquely designed air vents located by the nose and mouth, which collectively create only 28 decibels of sound.
  • Low Profile Design: Unlike most traditional full face masks, this mask sits just under the nose and does not feature a supportive forehead strap. This design reduces pressure points on the face, leaves your field of view totally clear, and is perfect for people with claustrophobia.
  • Set-It-And-Forget-It Headgear: The Evora Full Face Mask is designed to make your headgear adjustments last, even after taking your mask apart for cleaning! Simply adjust your mask once and then use the easy-to-use upper and lower clips to release your headgear from the mask itself. You do not have to undo your velcro straps while cleaning.
  • Resilient Velcro-Like Straps: Evora masks have a unique style of self-sticking velcro-like strips. But unlike velcro, this material does not become stuck to fabric and debris over time, so it never loses its stickiness!

This Mask Is Ideal For

  • Any Pressure Settings: With a strong seal that reviewers praise, the Evora Full Face Mask remains comfortably in place, even at high pressure settings.
  • Bedtime Activities: This mask features a minimalist design without forehead straps, allowing for a clear field of vision so you can wear glasses, read a book, or watch TV while wearing the mask.
  • Nose and Mouth Breathing: This full face mask allows you to breathe through your nose or mouth all night long.
  • People With Claustrophobia: With a compact, low-profile design, Evora masks are a solid option for people concerned about CPAP-related claustrophobia.
  • Medical Impact Devices: Unlike other masks on this list, the Evora does not feature magnetic clips, making it pacemaker-friendly!
  • Active Sleepers: Despite not having a top-of-the-head hose connection, this mask has a strong seal that stays in place no matter how much you move.
  • Side and Stomach Sleepers: An F&P survey showed that 96% of Evora Full Face Mask owners said that the strong mask seal allowed them to sleep in their preferred sleeping position, including side and stomach sleeping.

I LOVE THIS MASK!— 5 Stars: “It took me till this mask and asking people question to find the right mask. I am a nose breather. I love this mask because it’s comfortable and easy to clean. The hose is not in my face because I’m a belly sleeper. Take a look at who you are and how you sleep and breathe. This mask works great for me. It’s not expensive, depending on where you buy it. This company has helped me to get all my CPAP equipment, and I thank you all. Good customer service. Ask questions upon buying your mask. I would highly recommend this mask.”

Phillips DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillow Mask Details

The DreamWear Gel Nasal CPAP Mask is a fan favorite of many CPAP owners. Like the AirFit P30i, this mask features a strong seal, a top-of-the-head hose connection, and a low-profile design. However, this mask has the added benefit of utilizing gel-style nasal pillows, which are a bit softer and reduce the risk of nasal irritation without sacrificing seal strength.

Why We Chose This Mask

  • Top-of-Head Hose Connection: Thanks to its top-of-the-head hose connection point and 360-degree movement, this mask lets you move freely in bed and even sleep on your side without getting tangled up in those tubes and hoses!
  • Soft Fit Silicone Frame: This DreamWear frame is constructed with a soft silicone material that won’t dig into your face, even when moving around in bed or lying on your stomach. However, this frame does not have an accordion-like design, so the fit is slightly less conforming.
  • Hollow Headgear Frame: Like other top-of-the-head masks, this CPAP mask features a lightweight, hollow frame that directs airflow into the CPAP mask.
  • Nasal Cradle Design: This nasal pillow mask inserts directly into the nostrils and is supported by a cradle-like design that rests just below the nose.
  • 360° Elbow Swivel: The CPAP hose connection point features a 360° elbow swivel that is located at the top of the head, meaning you can twist and turn without getting your mask caught on your pillow or sheets! Reviewers state that this swivel seems to move more easily compared to the AirFit masks listed above.
  • Gel Nasal Pillows: Unlike most nasal pillow masks , this mask features gel nasal pillows, which are a bit softer and may reduce nostril irritation. Gel pillows hold their shape longer, providing a more comfortable, secure fit.
  • Easy-to-Remove Elbow: The DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillow Mask has an easy-to-remove elbow at the top of the head. Simply pull the elbow out of the silicone headgear to separate your mask from your hose. It is worth noting that this push-in, pull-out design is slightly harder to reinsert than the click-in style AirFit P30i mask.
  • Low Profile Headgear: This mask sits just under the nose. This low-profile, minimal contact design means fewer red marks and a wide-open field of view.
  • Soft Cloth-Wrapped Headgear: This mask comes with Phillip’s soft-to-touch cloth headgear wraps, which provide a soft touch against your skin, reducing pressure and irritation.
  • Interchangeable Frame: This mask is completely interchangeable with the DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow Mask and the DreamWear Nasal CPAP Mask. If you order the DreamWear Full Face Mask’s headgear, you can easily swap the frame out!

This Mask Is Ideal For

  • Low to High Pressure Settings: This mask can be used at high pressure settings. However, it may be uncomfortable to use at that level of pressure.
  • Bedtime Activities: This mask seals right inside the nose and does not require nasal bridge or forehead support, meaning you can wear glasses while watching TV or reading a book before bed.
  • Nose Breathing: This mask is intended for people who don’t have difficulty breathing through only their nose.
  • Facial Hair: Thanks to its strong seal, the DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillow Mask is a good option for people with facial hair.
  • New to CPAP: Sleep apnea specialists often suggest that people who are new to CPAP start with a nasal CPAP mask due to their comfortable, minimalist design.
  • People With Claustrophobia: Like other low-profile masks, this mask is a good option for people who cannot tolerate having their face covered by a full-sized CPAP mask or bulky forehead straps.
  • Active Sleepers: Thanks to the unique swiveling hose connection, this mask won’t get tangled up while you toss and turn in bed.
  • Side and Stomach Sleepers: This mask stays in place and won’t slide off when sleeping on your side or stomach.

LOVE THIS!— 5 Stars: “Love this CPAP nasal pillows mask thus far. Have tried numerous masks over the years, and this is by far the most comfortable, best sealing mask, which allows me to freely move from side to side throughout the night. I actually enjoy wearing this mask as it does not interfere with my normal sleep movements. Would highly recommend this mask to both new and experienced CPAP users."

Phillips DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow Mask Details

The Phillips DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow Mask is a fantastic choice for nose breathers and belly sleepers alike! It is very similar to the gel version, offering an equally strong seal, minimal pressure points, and a top-of-the-head hose connection. Silicone nasal pillows are the standard for most nasal pillows, so you know you can’t go wrong with this style!

Why We Chose This Mask

  • Top-of-Head Hose Connection: With its hose connection point located at the top of the head and the ability to twist 360 degrees, this mask allows you to sleep comfortably on your stomach without the hassle of getting tangled in tubes and hoses.
  • Soft Fit Silicone Frame: The DreamWear frame is made of a soft-to-the-touch silicone material that sits comfortably against your face, even when you change positions in bed or lie on your stomach. However, unlike frames with an accordion-like design, this frame may be slightly less snug.
  • Hollow Headgear Frame: Similar to other masks that connect at the top of the head, this CPAP mask has a light, hollow framework designed to guide airflow into your nostrils.
  • Nasal Cradle Design: The nasal pillow mask is placed directly inside your nose, supported by a cradle-like shell under the nose.
  • 360° Elbow Swivel: The CPAP hose connection includes a 360° elbow swivel, which allows you to freely move about in bed. So you don’t have to worry about getting your mask tangled in your bedding. Reviewers have noted that the DreamWear swivel moves more freely than the AirFit 30i mask series.
  • Soft Silicone Nasal Pillows: This DreamWear mask features soft silicone nasal pillows that insert into the nose, creating a comfortable but strong seal.
  • Easy-to-Remove Elbow: This nasal pillow mask connects to the CPAP hose via an elbow-shaped tube positioned at the top of the head. To detach your mask from the hose, simply pull the elbow out of the silicone headgear. Reinserting the elbow may be a bit more challenging compared to the click-in style of the AirFit P30i mask.
  • Low Profile Headgear: This mask’s cushion is positioned right below the nose. The headgear features only one head strap, which sits low on the face and has minimal contact with your skin. This design allows for fewer red marks and a wide-open field of view.
  • Soft Cloth-Wrapped Headgear: The DreamWear mask frame includes cloth headgear wraps, which minimize discomfort and irritation along your face.
  • Interchangeable Frame: This mask is completely interchangeable with the DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillow Mask and the DreamWear Nasal CPAP Mask. It can also be used with the DreamWear Full Face Mask, with an additional head strap, which you can order separately.

This Mask Is Ideal For

  • Low to High Pressure Settings: This nasal pillow mask is suitable for use with high pressure settings, but using it at that level may cause discomfort due to the direct airflow into the nostrils.
  • Bedtime Activities: With this mask, you can wear glasses comfortably while watching TV or reading before bed because it fits securely inside the nose without needing a nasal bridge or forehead support.
  • Nose Breathing: This mask is best suited for people who breathe through their nose comfortably.
  • Facial Hair: Due to its under-the-nose cradle design, facial hair will not impact your mask seal when using this CPAP mask.
  • New to CPAP: Nasal pillow CPAP masks are an excellent option for people who breathe through their nose and are just starting their CPAP journey.
  • People With Claustrophobia: Like similar masks, DreamWear Nasal Pillow Masks are popular with individuals who find it difficult to tolerate a traditional, full-sized CPAP mask with forehead straps.
  • Active Sleepers: Because of its unique hose connection that can fully rotate, this mask remains untangled even when you move around in bed.
  • Side and Stomach Sleepers: DreamWear Nasal Pillow Masks are side and belly sleeper-friendly, thanks to the strong seal, unique hose connection, and shallow side profile.

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!— 5 Stars: “I am pleasantly surprised by how comfortable this mask is when I put it on and sleep with it. I didn’t have any problems with leaks after a couple of adjustments with the head straps. It is as it is advertised on the Respironics website: Like wearing nothing at all, freedom of movement, and open field of vision. Most parts of the mask are made of silicone, and only one strap goes behind the head. So, there are no plastic, rubber, or straps on my face. The tube connection is on top of the head and brings freedom of movement without my arm getting tangled in it. With the mask on, I can use my reading glasses to read with no problem. Since the frame is silicone, putting my glasses under it is easy and comfortable. The medium frame fits me well, and I use the small-size cushion. Cleaning the mask is very convenient compared to the old masks that I had been using. I used to use over-the-nose nasal-type masks. Lastly, the order came with a free return insurance policy within a month, so I felt at ease to give it a try. I would recommend this mask to anyone who uses nasal-type masks."

Phillips DreamWear Nasal Mask Details

From the outside, the Phillips DreamWear Nasal Mask looks and feels very similar to the nasal pillow version. It features a nasal cradle design, which sits just under the nose and allows you to rest your head against your pillow without additional pressure or discomfort. Reviewers say this mask is a great option for those who want a nasal CPAP mask but have high air pressure requirements.

Why We Chose This Mask

  • Top-of-Head Hose Connection: This mask has a hose connection at the top of the head and can twist all the way around, so you can sleep on your stomach without getting tangled in tubes.
  • Soft Fit Silicone Frame: The DreamWear frame is made of a silicone material that won’t rub or irritate your face, even if you move around in bed or lay on your stomach. However, it may not fit as snugly as frames with an accordion-style design.
  • Hollow Headgear Frame: Like similar masks, the DreamWear Nasal Mask has a lightweight, hollow structure that is designed to direct airflow into the nasal mask.
  • Nasal Cradle Design: This nasal mask sits directly under your nose and features a slim, cradle-like shape that won’t press into your pillow.
  • 360° Elbow Swivel: This CPAP mask has an elbow-style joint that rotates in all directions, making it easy to move around in bed without getting tangled. People who have tried the Dreamwear mask say it moves more smoothly than the AirFit 30i masks.
  • Soft Silicone Nasal Cushion: This mask includes a soft silicone nasal cushion that seals just below your nostrils for a strong but comfortable seal.
  • Easy-to-Remove Elbow: This mask features an elbow tube that connects to the silicone frame at the top of the head. To remove the mask, you just pull the tube out. Putting the tube back may be a little harder, though, as you have to jam it down into the soft frame.
  • Low Profile Headgear: This mask is placed below the nose. The headgear has only one strap that rests low on the face and doesn’t come in contact with too much of your face. This design reduces red marks and gives you a clear view when watching TV or reading a book.
  • Soft Cloth-Wrapped Headgear: DreamWear frames come with removable, soft headgear wraps that reduce discomfort and irritation on your face.
  • Interchangeable Frame: This mask is interchangeable with the DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillow Mask and the DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask. The frame can also be used with the DreamWear Full Face Mask, though you will need to purchase the full face version’s unique headgear as well to swap the cushions out.

This Mask Is Ideal For

  • Low to High Pressure Settings: This nasal pillow mask is okay to use with high pressure settings, but it can certainly become uncomfortable without good humidification.
  • Bedtime Activities: This mask allows you to wear glasses, watch TV, or read before bed thanks to its lack of forehead straps or nasal bridge support.
  • Nose Breathing: As a nasal CPAP mask, the DreamWear Nasal Mask is intended for people who breathe through their nose.
  • Facial Hair: Thanks to the nasal cradle design, this mask seals perfectly to the nose, regardless of whether or not you have facial hair.
  • People With Claustrophobia: The DreamWear Nasal Mask does not require forehead straps or nasal bridge support, so it is perfect for people with CPAP claustrophobia.
  • Active Sleepers: This mask doesn’t get tangled when you move in bed because of its special hose connection that can rotate fully.
  • Side and Stomach Sleepers: The DreamWear Nasal Mask is great for side and stomach sleepers due to its nasal cradle design and top-of-the-head hose connection.

  • Seals Under the Nostrils
  • Maintains Strong Seal Even When Moving
  • Easy On and Off With Magnetic Clips
  • Easier to Adjust For a Good Fit

Cons

  • Magnets Not Suitable With Certain Medical Implants
  • More Pressure Points Than a Nasal CPAP Mask
  • Sound of Airflow Near the Ears May Annoy Some
  • Slightly Harder to Put On Than the DreamWear Nasal Masks
  • Higher Chance of Mask Leaks

FREEDOM!— 5 Stars: “I really enjoy the freedom of this mask. I sleep on my stomach and switch back and forth a lot. The mask follows me throughout the night without issues. I have a full beard, and it seals very well for me. I did go through a bit of a journey for a few nights on the fitment. The guide said I should use a small. I have never used a small for anything in my life. I tried it and did not have a fun night. It was hard to seal. The next night, I just went to the large. It was a much better experience. However, it did leak at the crease of each side of my nostrils occasionally. On the 3rd night, I switched to the medium. In true Goldilocks fashion, it was just right. Zero leaks and comfortable. Not looking back.”

Phillips DreamWear Full Face Mask Details

The Phillips DreamWear Full Face Mask is the OG top-of-head style mask, and to this day, it is still incredibly popular! While this mask may not offer all of the same features as the AirFit F30i, many reviewers claim that this mask provides them with a better fit and a stronger seal.

Why We Chose This Mask

  • Top-of-the-Head Hose Connection: The DreamWear Full Face Mask has a connection point at the top of the frame, which eliminates the need for bulky hoses being placed in front of your face, preventing you from getting tangled in your CPAP hose.
  • 360° Elbow Swivel: This mask features an elbow tube that can rotate in any direction, allowing you to move freely without risking the mask coming off unintentionally in your sleep.
  • Shallow Side Profile: You can comfortably rest your face on a pillow without having this mask press into your face due to its unique shell design, which fits under the nose and does not stick out too far past your face.
  • Soft Silicone Cushion: The DreamWear Full Face CPAP mask has a soft cushion that sits under the nostrils and seals around the mouth and nose. Most reviewers report being impressed by the seal strength created by this unique cushion.
  • Hollow Headgear Frame: Like similar products, this mask features a hollow and lightweight frame, which cuts down on bulk and reduces pressure points.
  • Easy-to-Remove Elbow: When removing the mask, simply pull the elbow tube from the silicone frame. Putting the tube back might be a bit more difficult as you have to press it firmly into the soft silicone.
  • Low Profile Design: Traditionally, full face masks are held in place with straps that go around the forehead and keep the mask secure around the nose. The DreamWear Full Face Mask doesn’t require forehead support. This design reduces pressure on the upper cheeks and nose bridge.
  • Magnetic Clips: Instead of traditional fasteners or clips, this mask uses magnets to secure the headgear straps to the mask, making it easier to put on and take off. Reviewers have stated that the AirFit F30i magnets are slightly easier to guide into place.
  • Adjustable Velcro Straps: Unlike the other DreamWear Masks, the full face version features adjustable straps just above the jawline.

This Mask Is Ideal For

  • Low to High Pressure Settings: As a full face mask, the DreamWear Full Face Mask is a popular choice for people who require high pressure CPAP therapy.
  • Bedtime Activities: This DreamWear mask offers a clear field of view, which means you can wear it with glasses, watch TV, or read in bed!
  • Nose and Mouth Breathing: Full face masks like this are highly recommended to people who breathe through their nose and mouth.
  • People With Claustrophobia: Thanks to its under-the-nose mask cushion, this mask does not require bulky forehead support and does not cover a significant portion of the face, making it a good option for those who feel claustrophobic when wearing traditional-style full face masks.
  • Active Sleepers: DreamWear masks offer a top-of-the-head connection and a 360° elbow swivel that allows you to toss and turn without tangling your CPAP hose.
  • Side and Stomach Sleepers: This mask is the OG go-to mask for side and belly sleepers!
